On a final note, the beach made up for everything else. I would avoid if very hot out and when crowded. Worth every penny.Īlso, if you are considering visiting the town walls, it is a bit of a trek. On the posh side, try the Dubravka restaurant downtown across the street where the bus drops you off. The backstreets are better, try to find where the locals eat. Tirena is 20 mins away from the old town but bus #6. I had to ask for gluten free bread but I was uncomfortable to bother anyone so I gave up. The food (we had breakfast and dinner included), was ok, very bland and usually stone cold. The hotel looks like only the bare bones are maintained. For three stars I hoped for a mini bar with some water, that's all.
The shower pressure is weak, I found this very annoying. We were told soft drinks were free but they are not. Not even a bottle of water in the minibar. Beds are old and the entire place can do with an upgrade (walls and fixtures).
